It powers on with batteries or an adapter (the power lamp lights up), but the playback, instant forward, rewind, and other buttons do not function.The exterior, battery compartment, and head area are all in good condition, suggesting that someone with knowledge could easily repair it and make it usable. However, I am not knowledgeable in this area.The item includes the main unit only.
